What should the church be built around?

Not entertainment.
Not personality.
Not trends.
Not clever ideas.

Scripture.

Paul told Timothy:

"Until I come, devote yourself to the public reading of Scripture, to preaching and to teaching.
1 Timothy 4:13

That gives us a simple picture of faithful ministry:

Read the Word.
Explain the Word.
Apply the Word.

The church does not need to invent a better message.

We need to be faithful to the message God has already given us.

And there’s another challenge in this passage:

It’s not enough to preach the right message, our lives must match the message we preach.

BACK TO SCHOOL BASH!

Summer may be winding down, but we’re kicking off the new school year with a great night together at Friendship Baptist Church!

Join us this Sunday, August 30 at 5:00 PM for our Back to School Bash as we celebrate our students, encourage them for the year ahead, and spend time together as a church family and friends.

Kids and students, invite your classmates and friends!
Parents, bring the family and come be part of the evening.

Most importantly, we want every student heading back to school to know they are loved, prayed for, and never walking into this school year alone.
