Grace Episcopal Church, Cuero was organized in 1874 and the first chapel was moved from Port Lavaca, Texas. The present Church was built in 1889 on land donated by C. It was dedicated May 25, 1890 when The Reverend George Henson was Rector. The first Senior Warden of the Church was Judge Henry Clay Pleasants. The Church is of Gothic architecture with clapboard siding. Walnut beaded wood panels rea

ch to vaulted ceilings incorporating stained glass clerestory windows. Dedicated memoria1 stained glass windows line the walls of the Church. Memorials given by many family members grace the Church. One of the most-prized is the silver chalice that is decorated with the emerald and diamond engagement ring of the wife of Texas Ranger Captain Leander McNelly. Other jewels decorating the cup were lovingly given by the women of the Church. Although the interior of the Church remains the same today, white Stucco was added in 1922 and now covers the outside siding. The steeple topped with a cross has been covered with copper and a handicap ramp has been added to the north entrance.

Nick Panagiotou moved into his new RV home Tuesday, which was a gift made possible by the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas.

KENS 5 & Kens5.com in San Antonio highlighted the work being done by the diocesan Flood Relief team made possible through generous grants provided by The Community Foundation of the Texas Hill Country and Episcopal Relief & Development (ERD). The Diocese of West Texas is leading the effort to provide safe housing, rehoming 50 individuals and families by the one-year anniversary of the flood. “It started off with just RVs. That has since changed because the need is ever increasing,” said Jody Guerra with the Episcopal Diocese of West Texas. “We’re discovering more and more people that have been affected that didn’t know that help was out there.”

A big thank you to Pet Adoptions of Cuero!🐶

A winning combination - PUPPIES and Pre-K kiddo's! That's what happened today when the team from Pet Adoptions of Cuero ventured out to Grace Episcopal Church here in Cuero. The summer camp children's group welcomed half a dozen of the newest arrival of pups for a morning play session. The pups loved all the one on one attention and the kiddo's loved the puppy kisses and cuddles. Thanks to GEC for the invite and all the wonderful pet food and pet toy donations.
