Cudahy United Methodist Church Cudahy United Methodist Church is a small, friendly group of Christ's disciples who welcome all. We have a zoom Service 7pm Sat. Day Meetings 10-11. Evening 7-8.

Our Pastor, Lynne Hines-Levy leads us in Scripture based Worship Sundays at 10:15 am. Our motto: Caring for Cudahy and Beyond We host 5 recovery meetings weekly. Monday, Wednesday, Friday, and Saturday morning and Saturday Evening.

Prayer for Open Hearts God of our future, deepen our hope and our expectation. Welcome us all to this new time together. God of our past, deepen our trust and our confidence, in you and in each other as we grow together. God of our present, deepen our faithfulness and our watchfulness. God of all our times, deepen our love. Amen

Scripture Matthew 16:21-28
21 From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and undergo great suffering at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be killed, and on the third day be raised. 22 And Peter took him aside and began to rebuke him, saying, ‘God forbid it, Lord! This must never happen to you.’ 23 But he turned and said to Peter, ‘Get behind me, Satan! You are a stumbling-block to me; for you are setting your mind not on divine things but on human things.’
24 Then Jesus told his disciples, ‘If any want to become my followers, let them deny themselves and take up their cross and follow me. 25 For those who want to save their life will lose it, and those who lose their life for my sake will find it. 26 For what will it profit them if they gain the whole world but forfeit their life? Or what will they give in return for their life?
27 ‘For the Son of Man is to come with his angels in the glory of his Father, and then he will repay everyone for what has been done. 28 Truly I tell you, there are some standing here who will not taste death before they see the Son of Man coming in his kingdom.’

Prayer for Open Minds Gracious God, help us to listen for your word for us today through scripture and through the wisdom of each other, with the openness and trust of a child, with the questioning mind of a youth, with the discerning heart of one grown to maturity, and with the wisdom of one seasoned by years. Amen

We are back on Cudahy's South side today for our Prayer Walker Ministry. Beginning at Ramsey and Swift, we'll head North to Iona Terrace then to Quality Avenue and back to Ramsey. We do the loop twice and will start about 11:15 ish so please stop, say HI, share any joys or concerns we can pray about or just give us a wave if you're in your car or on your bike. We love having the opportunity to meet more of our neighbors.

Scripture Isaiah 56:1, 6-8
The Lord says to his people, “Do what is just and right, for soon I will save you.
6 And the Lord says to those foreigners who become part of his people, who love him and serve him, who observe the Sabbath and faithfully keep his covenant: 7 “I will bring you to Zion, my sacred hill,[a] give you joy in my house of prayer, and accept the sacrifices you offer on my altar. My Temple will be called a house of prayer for the people of all nations.”
8 The Sovereign Lord, who has brought his people Israel home from exile, has promised that he will bring still other people to join them.
