T'was the night before Potluck and all through God's house
Pastor wouldn't stop stirring, which upset the church mouse.

Few stockings were hung, but lots of goodies in store
For some special people who are loved by the Lord.

The brisket is roasting, so home I will head
So that I may snuggle up warm in my bed.

And Mom will wake up to take care of the ham
Who's preaching tomorrow? Oh, right. I am.

My church people don't know that I am at home
So they'll be surprised when morning does come.

But I'm happy to celebrate Christ's birth with them.
If you ask if I'm blessed, I'll say, "Yes" and "AMEN."
