This week we were reminded that Baptism  is a beautiful picture of the gospel of Christ! As we go down into the water, we are reminded that our old life has been buried with Christ, we picture the new life we have because of His death and resurrection.

That’s what makes this song such a powerful reminder. We don’t simply get wet when we are baptized— we are declaring that Jesus has changed us . We have left our old life behind and are choosing to follow Him in the new life He has given us. Baptism does not save us…JESUS saves us. Baptism is our public declaration of the gospel— the story of what Christ has already done in us (His Story becomes Our Story!).

The old is gone. The new has come. We left it in the water!

Church Members! We’d love to see you tonight for our church business meeting at 7 PM. We have a couple of important items on the agenda that require a vote, so if you are able, please make plans to join us. In 1 Peter 3:18-22, we see that Christ suffered for sins once for all, died in our place, rose again in power, in proclaimed His victory over the spiritual forces that opposed Him. The fallen angels and demonic powers that sought to thwart God’s redemptive plan were not victorious. Christ Won! Christ Reigns!

Those words reminded me of a song I heard this week (below) “Tell those demons run and hide, they tremble at the name of Jesus every time”. What a powerful reminder. The enemy traffics in lies, fear, and darkness, but Jesus stands as the risen King. Fear does not have the final word. Darkness does not have the final word. The powers of evil do not have the final word. JESUS DOES! ❤️

The same Savior who suffered for us now reigns over all authorities, powers, and dominions. His victory is complete and because we belong to Him, we can stand firm in hope, confidence, and faith. Christ won. Christ reigns. And one day every knee will bow before the victorious King.! 👑

Every can makes a difference— thank you for helping support our youth group experience and all that God has for them there! Save your cans now… collection date will be on Sunday, June 7 after the service.

Today we pause to remember and honor the brave men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their sacrifice reminds us that freedom is never free.

As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, may we also take a moment to pray for the families of the fallen, for our military, and for our nation. ❤️🤍💙
