Trinity Sunday:

"We must live as a person who knows we are defined by love," Father Downing said in his homily this afternoon. "That changes how we live. ... we are drawn upward in love."

Father reminded us that we are children of God, and that God is love. Everything flows from that eternal reality. Through grace, we are elevated and called to become partakers in his Divine Nature.

-- a mystery to be lived.

Today's Gospel reading from John:

"God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him might not perish but might have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him will not be condemned, but whoever does not believe has already been condemned, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God."

John 3:16-18

God is the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit -- and he made us to live in communion with him and to be transformed by his presence.
