Good Afternoon All Saints Church. I am traveling but did not want to leave you without a message. No really new ground covered here but things we need to hear over again sometimes. See you next Sunday!!

In this passage, (Matthew 13:13-14) we see the heart of Jesus on full display. After withdrawing to a deserted place, seeking solitude, He is met by a great crowd. Rather than turning them away, Scripture tells us that “He had compassion for them and cured their sick.” Jesus looked beyond the inconvenience and saw people who were hurting, searching, and in need of hope. His compassion was not just an emotion—it moved Him to action. He met their needs with mercy, healing, and love.

The same compassionate Savior who looked upon that crowd looks upon us today. When we place our faith and trust in Christ, we can be confident that He sees our burdens, knows our struggles, and cares deeply for us. His compassion has not changed. We may face illness, grief, uncertainty, or disappointment, but we never face those things alone. Jesus invites us to come to Him, trusting that His love is steadfast and His grace is sufficient for every need.

As disciples of Christ, we are called to reflect His compassion in our own lives. It is easy to become consumed with our own schedules and concerns, but Jesus teaches us to see others through the eyes of mercy. We are called to care for the hurting, encourage the discouraged, forgive as we have been forgiven, and extend kindness even when it requires sacrifice. Compassion is one of the clearest ways the love of Christ is revealed through His people.

May we trust in the compassionate heart of our Savior and allow His love to transform us. As we receive His mercy each day, may we freely share that same mercy with those around us, becoming instruments of His healing, hope, and grace in a world that desperately needs to experience the compassion of Christ.
