We had a great time at the Light the Fire events on Sunday! A HUGE thank you to all who hosted, attended, participated online, and donated! Together we are keeping the flames of outdoor ministry alive as we prepare to kick off our next summer. Thanks be to God!

Greetings from Fortune Lake!

Earlier this evening, friends of camp gathered all over the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and Wisconsin to kick off the summer season and celebrate the ministry of Fortune Lake with our Light the Fire event. If you weren't able to make it to one of our in-person fire sites, don't fret! Our virtual campfire is included in this post. In an effort to avoid the technical difficulties we've encountered with the live virtual version of this event, we've pivoted to a pre-recorded version this year. Unfortunately, new strategies sometimes come with NEW technical difficulties! We apologize for the delay in getting this video out to you all.

Here at Fortune Lake, we're busy preparing for another impactful summer season with all of the faith, fun, and beauty that we've come to know and love. We invite you to join us in this preparation! Summer programs come with a price tag, and by lighting the fire with us, you can help us mitigate these costs. "My name is Oliver (he/him), and I’m from Houghton, Michigan. I’m a musician and creative who enjoys writing and working on music in my free time. This summer I'll be working as a counselor while continuing to write and practice up on my hobbies. I’m most excited to meet new people, make long lasting memories, and experience everything wonderful Fortune Lake has to offer!"

Intergenerational Camp at Fortune Lake is a fun-filled, faith-focused experience for families of all shapes and sizes! This just might be the most vacactiony vacation you'll ever take, as we provide the food, lodging, and activities all week long. You show up, and let us take care of the rest! You'll likely all leave refreshed with stronger relationships with God and one another.

On Saturday our Mental Health Support Coordinator, Mercedes, participated in the Soul Shop for Faith Leaders workshop. The one-day workshop is designed to equip leaders with the skills and resources necessary to minister to individuals impacted by su***de.

The free event was sponsored by Bethany Lutheran Church, Ishpeming. It was made possible through a bequest from an esteemed member who died by su***de. The congregation is committed to remembering and honoring his legacy through meaningful community events like this. Hope grows out of despair.
