In the Gospel reading for this coming Sunday, we hear the beautiful parables of the lost sheep and the lost piece of silver. Christ tells us that when a shepherd finds his lost sheep, he calls together his friends and neighbours, saying, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost.

This Third Sunday after Trinity, we invite you to experience the profound joy and reverence of traditional Anglican worship. Whether you are seeking a church home or simply looking for a quiet place to pray, you will find a warm, welcoming family at St. Paul's in Crownsville.

Are you seeking a quiet, reverent place to encounter Christ?

There is profound comfort in worship that has stood the test of time. At St. Paul's Anglican Church, we worship using historic and beautiful liturgy. We gather not as individuals relying on our own merits, but as a family entirely dependent on God's grace.

We would love to welcome you tomorrow for the Second Sunday After Trinity. Whether you are a lifelong Anglican or simply exploring orthodox Christian worship for the first time, there is a pew waiting for you here in Crownsville.

Sunday Service Times:
8:00 AM - Holy Communion
9:15 AM - Morning Prayer and Holy Communion
11:00 AM - Holy Communion

O Lord, who never failest to help and govern those whom thou dost bring up in thy stedfast fear and love; Keep us, we beseech thee, under the protection of thy good providence, and make us to have a perpetual fear and love of thy holy Name; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

This past week, for the First Sunday After Trinity, Fr. Wesley preached a powerful message on overcoming the myth of self-sufficiency. In our modern culture, we frequently face the tyranny of merit, which is the belief that any success we experience is solely due to our individual effort.

This mindset can lead to a spiritual emptiness known as moral therapeutic deism, where we treat God as a distant entity who does not care about our daily lives and simply wants us to be nice to others.

True orthodox faith teaches us that God is love. Due to original sin, we cannot perform truly good acts or approach God by our own strength without His assistance. We are not self-made in a spiritual sense. Instead, God made a way back to Himself through Jesus Christ, who emptied Himself for us.

God's love invites us into communion, transforming us just as iron placed into a fire takes on the fire's glowing properties.

Listen to the full sermon on our website and join our church family as we grow together in grace.
