Thank you to everyone who made Summer Bible Camp a fun and faith-filled event last week! Shout-out to the leaders for the week: Gail Tautkus, Jessica Meaux, and Rev Rachelle Brown. Also, thanks for the help from Debbie Freeland, Clay Kirsch, and Ayden Elkins to keep everything flowing!

Mr. Phillip Mouton turned 90 years old and retired. For over 60 years, Mr. Phillip worked at the church, plus in the community. We celebrate his new milestone with family and friends! Here are a few pictures. We presented him with a framed picture from the early years and an engraved plaque. It was a great celebration!

"Almighty God, Ruler of all the peoples of the earth, forgive our shortcomings as a nation; purify our hearts to see and love truth; give wisdom to our counselors and steadfastness to our people; and bring us at last to the fair city of peace, whose foundations are mercy, justice, and goodwill, and whose builder and maker you are. Amen."

May we live into way of love, compassion, and justice of God in that we say and do, loving God as we love our neighbors and ourselves.

The Presbyterian Church USA 227th General Assembly just ended. Many things were discussed summarized as, "Nearly two weeks of online committee meetings and in-person plenaries saw the Assembly approve actions on multiple social issues, including divesting from fossil fuels, repudiating Christian nationalism, calling Israel's actions in Gaza genocide and advocating for access to gender-affirming healthcare. But these moves toward justice were perhaps overshadowed by long and tense debates around misuse of institutional power and calls for accountability for various denominational entities." Fellowship hall and lobby overhaul underway! Walls and ceiling painted by dozens of volunteers. The carpet is gone and a brand new floor is being installed! God does provide!
