Church Family,
With God’s grace and love and with gratitude for God's faithful guidance, I share with you that I have accepted the position of Pastorless Church Coordinator with the Baptist General Convention of Texas. These past six and a half years serving as your pastor have been filled with growth, ministry opportunities, and evidence of God's faithfulness. Dulcie and I are grateful for our time here and you will always hold a special place in our hearts.
Looking back over our time together, I am amazed at how God has worked in and through our church family. We weathered the challenges of COVID-19, growing stronger and more adaptable in our ministry. Together, we celebrated our largest graduating class in church history in 2020 and witnessed God's faithfulness through financial difficulties. We've made important improvements to our facilities ensuring our church home remains welcoming and comfortable for years to come.
I am particularly grateful for our growing focus on outward ministry. Through our mission partnership with River City Church and the Sidhom family, our Adopt a Teacher ministry, monthly dinner provision for the Crowley Police Department, and active participation in community events, we have built meaningful bridges into our community and demonstrated Christ's love in practical ways.
Through transitions in staff, including five worship leaders, three secretaries, and several cleaning crews, you have demonstrated patience, adaptability, and a steadfast commitment to our church's mission. Your resilience and faithfulness through every change has been inspiring. The relationships we have built here will remain precious to us, and you will be in our prayers as you continue to serve Christ and make His name known in our community and beyond.
I am committed to working with our church leadership to ensure a smooth transition. I have full confidence that God will continue to guide and bless First Baptist Church Crowley in its next chapter of ministry. My last Sunday in the pulpit will be February 23, and my final day in the office will be February 13th.
Dr. Aaron Summers, Pastor
