A farewell letter from your pastor
I want to say I love you all from the bottom of my heart. I have enjoyed our time together. This December we would have been pastoring. We have prayed together, rejoiced together, cried together, worked together, hurt together, and rose to the occasion together. I have always regarded being a pastor as an honor and privilege. I pray that I have never taken anyone for granted. I want to thank all of you who have stood beside us.
I believe all pastors have a vision, they should anyway. I envisioned an open-air pavilion, and a Sunday School trailer I did my due diligence, anytime you want to dig or build you must involve the city. In doing so we found out that the gas line runs exactly where we wanted the open-air pavilion, and the sewer line runs exactly where the Sunday School trailer would go so that being said the city said no., I didn’t feel it would be wise to spend God’s money in a manner that could cause us to have to tare down the open-air pavilion or force us to sell the trailer. I hoped that things could have been different, but as we all remember the city told us that if we didn’t fix the parking lot, they would condemn our property and force us to sell as is. I know we had asked the church to borrow money to put in new doors in front the entrance and the back door. We called so many at the time and they couldn’t get the new doors due to Covid ugh!! This situation has been good and bad for the churches all around. I feel that we have done good through it all.
I want to say thank you all for dealing with us as your Pastors, since this was our first time. It’s not easy but with a helpful and faithful congregation I think we all did pretty good.
Now we have come to the end of our season. Ecclesiastes is very clear on this, “There is a season for everything”. We have many who are moving or already moved to start their new season. I feel we all have a part in wherever God takes us all to start our new season.
Pray for us as we will always be mindful and prayerful for you all. As we journey to work for the kingdom let us be willing to always tell of the Goodness of God. Our journey together will be finished, but I am excited to see how God will use you in the future. Remember to love the people around you and strive for unity within the body; stay close to God and be sensitive to His Spirit; pray daily for one another. Finally, remember dear church family that I love you all in Christ, and that my address may change, but my destination is still the same–I’ll be waiting for you at the Eastern Gate.
Humbly your servant,
Rev. Felicia Reno
