We missed sharing this event talk from our Lenten Evening of Reflection in March. Msgr Thomas Richter gave a stirring presentation titled "Getting God Right". Here it is for those of you who had to miss the event or who want to give it a second listen - because it is definitely worth a second or third listen. Feel free to repost!

This is Monsignor Richter's presentation on prayer during St. Patri...

Have you ever been to a priestly ordination?

Last Friday, Bishop Kagan ordained a new priest for our diocese. These are always beautiful occasions. There’s nothing like seeing dozens of priests process in to the Cathedral and later welcome a new brother in the ordained priesthood of Jesus Christ.

Take a look at photos from this day (can you spot Fr Crane?), and maybe one day you will get to witness a Priestly Ordination in person.

Today is the Solemnity of the Most Sacred Heart of Jesus, when in a special way we honor the burning, relentless divine and human love of Jesus Christ for humanity. As believers, we acknowledge His immense mercy, and we return that love through personal friendship, offering reparation for the world's coldness and indifference.

Yesterday, the US Bishops consecrated the United States of America to the Sacred Heart of Jesus ❤️‍🔥 to commemorate the 250th anniversary of the founding of the US.

To celebrate this Solemnity, if you can’t get to Mass, consider praying the Litany of the Sacred Heart with your family, saving an image of the Sacred Heart on your phone Home Screen, doing a personal or family consecration to the Sacred Heart, and, of course, celebrate with good food!

In the comments you will find an article with more details about devotion to the Sacred Heart as well as the 12 Promises to those who practice this devotion.

***The image here is a painting by Pompeii Batoni from the 18th century which became the definitive and most widely reproduced visual representation of the Sacred Heart devotion worldwide.

It is with a sorrowful heart that we announce that Brad Johnson, a long-time member of our parish and broader community, died yesterday, June 8th. Brad was a man of deep faith, evidenced in particular in his final days on earth. Brad served for years in our parish choir and as a lector. His simple, calm, peaceful demeanor was a great gift from God to all around him. We pray for the repose of his soul, that he be welcomed into the arms of his loving Father.

The wake service will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church 7pm, Thursday, June 11th.

Funeral Mass will be Friday, June 12th at 11am, St Patrick’s Catholic Church.

Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord, and let perpetual light shine upon him. May he rest in peace. May his soul and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercy of God rest in peace. Amen.

Our dear parishioner, Brad Johnson, is currently in hospice care. Please offer prayers for him and the family and consider providing a meal to support them during this difficult time.

We would like to support the family of Brad Johnson during a difficult time. The Johnson family has always been very active in the community and we’d like to try to give back to them a little.

Our new sister parish, St. Boniface in Grenora, will celebrate its patronal feast day tomorrow, June 5!

A well-loved annual tradition is the celebration of Mass at the Marian Grotto located at the former parish site 10 miles south of Grenora and a half mile East, at the corner of 74th St NW and 149th Ave NW.

Mass will begin at 9:30 a.m., with Father Roger Synek as celebrant. All are welcome! Please bring a chair for Mass and a dish to share for the potluck meal following Mass.

In the event it is windy, Mass will be held at St. Boniface Church in Grenora.

Also attached in the comments is a past article from the Dakota Catholic Action sharing the history of this beautiful grotto.

We hope you’ll join us for this special feast day celebration!

Please join us in welcoming Father Roger Synek as the new pastor of St. Patrick’s Parish, Crosby, and our cluster parishes in Noonan and Grenora as of June 1!

As Father Synek begins his ministry among us, we invite you to keep him in your prayers and help him feel at home by introducing yourself, offering a meal, or inviting him to dinner with your family as he gets to know his new parish family. Stay tuned for a parish welcome dinner for him later this summer.

Welcome, Father Synek! We are blessed to have you with us.

Today we celebrated the first communion of Emily Cruz! We give thanks to God for another member of our parish getting to receive the Eucharist. It was also a bittersweet day, as we bid farewell to our pastor of three years, Father Gregory Crane. He said that he will see us in the Eucharist. We pray for him and will always be united with him in Christ. We also pray for our incoming pastor, Father Roger Synek! (Also, note the scaffolding on the back wall of the sanctuary, an exciting sign of our parish's improvement project in full swing!)
