Sometimes it feels like we are not growing as we should. But here is some good news.
In Philippians 2:12-13, after pointing to Jesus as the greatest example of humility, obedience, sacrifice, and exaltation, Paul urged the Philippian saints,
"So then, my beloved, just as you have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your salvation with fear and trembling; for it is God who is at work in you, both to will and to work for His good pleasure."
Did you catch that? God himself is already working in us that which pleases him. And he calls us to work out in everyday life what he is already working within us. Just like Jesus did in response to the Father, let what God is doing inside you work its way out in how you live. His work is already going on inside you. Submit, cooperate, and obey; and God will show himself in and through your life!
