Hey, everyone, the internet connection and signal has been spotty all day. As a result, the video I recorded did not load, so here is a text version.

Devotional

“Together, we are His house, built on the foundation of the apostles and the prophets. And the cornerstone is Christ Jesus Himself.”
— Ephesians 2:20 (NLT)

Devotional Thought:
A few weeks during service, we used a stack of 15 books to demonstrate how a true foundation must be built from the cornerstone.

We placed one book in the bottom left corner, representing Christ, the chief cornerstone. Then we stacked the remaining books, making sure they were aligned and “dressed” according to that first book.

The visual was simple—but powerful. If you misplace or ignore the cornerstone, every other stone (or book!) will fall out of alignment.

But when Christ is your foundation, everything else—your family, calling, faith, and purpose—lines up correctly.

Are you picking up, and place the cornerstones God has for your life?

Is your life being built off the Cornerstone of Christ… or are you trying to build on your own?

Stay safe, stay warm, and stay grounded in Christ. We’ll see you soon, family!

Day of rest and safety everyone.

Sunday Morning Devotion: Renewed Strength and Peace

Scripture References:

Isaiah 40:31 (NLT): "But those who trust in the Lord will find new strength. They will soar high on wings like eagles. They will run and not grow weary. They will walk and not faint."

Philippians 4:6-7 (NLT): "Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."

Psalm 27:14 (NLT): "Wait patiently for the Lord. Be brave and courageous. Yes, wait patiently for the Lord."

Devotional:

In our fast-paced world, waiting can often feel like a burden. Yet, the Bible teaches us that waiting on the Lord is a vital part of our spiritual journey. Isaiah 40:31 reminds us that those who trust in the Lord will find new strength, enabling them to soar like eagles and run without growing weary. This renewed strength comes not from our own efforts but from a deep reliance on God's timing and provision.

Waiting on God is not a passive activity; it involves active trust and dependence on Him. As we wait, we are encouraged to bring our concerns to God through prayer, as stated in Philippians 4:6-7. By presenting our requests with thanksgiving, we open our hearts to the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding. This divine peace acts as a guard over our hearts and minds, shielding us from anxiety and unrest.

More over, Psalm 27:14 encourages us to be brave and courageous as we wait patiently for the Lord. This patience is cultivated through a deep-seated confidence in God's faithfulness and His perfect timing. In moments of uncertainty or delay, we can find inner peace by trusting that God is at work, even when we cannot see the immediate results.

Reflection Questions:

1. In what areas of your life is God calling you to wait on Him? Reflect on situations where you may be rushing ahead and consider how you can surrender these to God's timing.

2. How can you actively seek God's peace during times of waiting? Think about incorporating regular prayer and thanksgiving into your daily routine to cultivate a sense of inner calm.

3. What steps can you take to strengthen your trust in God's plan for your life? Consider studying God's promises in Scripture and recalling past instances where He has been faithful.

Prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the promise of renewed strength as we wait on You. Help us to trust in Your perfect timing and to seek Your peace in every situation. Guard our hearts and minds with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Teach us to be patient and courageous, knowing that You are at work in our lives. In Jesus' name, we pray.
