This picture's color on the leaves reminds me of a flame. I took it by using the zoom on my phone. As I am thinking about Pentecost Sunday, I remember the flames that appeared on the heads of those in the upper room. In Acts 2 we read,
"When the day of Pentecost had come, they were all together in one place. And suddenly from heaven there came a sound like the rush of a violent wind, and it filled the entire house where they were sitting. Divided tongues, as of fire, appeared among them, and a tongue rested on each of them. All of them were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in other languages, as the Spirit gave them ability."
Is your heart and soul filled with the fire of the Holy Spirit? If it is, what are you going to do with it? Are you going to sit in a pew, or are you going to go out into the world and start a fire of love, peace, and grace? The church was begun when the Holy Spirit came upon them and they witnessed to the crowd that had gathered. May a crowd gather around you as you speak and act through the power of the Holy Spirit. May they feel the grace of God from you.

We had a beautiful Easter!
Now that Easter day is over, where are the eggs? Where are the chocolate bunnies? A chocolate bunny never lasts with me. Eggs can go bad. Baskets are put away. We go on with our lives. But Easter never actually ends. The last words in Matthew are:
"And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age."
Jesus is always here. He is with us much longer than chocolate bunnies. Continue Easter in your daily lives. Christ is risen! He is risen indeed!

This butterfly picture is from a trip to the Grand Canyon. It reminds us of new life. As we wait for Easter morning, for the resurrection, we hold on to the hope of new life. Luke 23:52-56 reminds us to wait with hope.

"This man went to Pilate and asked for the body of Jesus. Then he took it down, wrapped it in a linen cloth, and laid it in a rock-hewn tomb where no one had ever been laid. It was the day of Preparation, and the sabbath was beginning. The women who had come with him from Galilee followed, and they saw the tomb and how his body was laid. Then they returned, and prepared spices and ointments. On the sabbath they rested according to the commandment."
As we wait for Easter Sunday, have faith that Christ is risen and that our own lives will be changed; that we will be born anew.
