Our Foundation was established in 1977 to promote devotion to Padre Pio and to foster adult vocations to the priesthood. We do all we can to spread devotion to Padre Pio. The Foundation's goal is to spread devotion to our beloved Padre Pio by spreading his teachings and spirituality; keeping Pietrelcina a holy place of remembrance and preserving places near and dear to Padre Pio; aiding in priestl
y vocations and participating and promoting corporal and spiritual works of mercy in remembrance of Padre Pio. Most importantly, we have had passed on to us, directly from Padre Pio, the urgent need to let people know that he will accept "all of America" (his words) as his Spiritual Children. Through his intercessions, people have experienced physical healing, renewed faith, conversion and many other spiritual and temporal blessings. San Giovanni Rotondo -
At the request of the Capuchin Friars in San Giovanni Rotondo, we helped them build Padre Pio's New Church. After years of work, the new church opened on July 1, 2004. La Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza is considered by many as Padre Pio's hospital. This hospital was Padre Pio's dream, to help those who suffer. His dream has been sustained through donations and prayer. The Padre Pio Foundation also supports the hospital. We are able to support these projects in San Giovanni Rotondo thanks to the loyal support of our benefactors. Both the hospital and the new church are magnificent tributes to our patron saint. Pietrelcina -
Our efforts in Italy also focus on Pietrelcina, where Padre Pio was born. It was through our efforts that Santa Anna Church, the church where he was baptized and confirmed, was completely restored. It was in disrepair and had been abandoned for many years. Through the generous contributions of our benefactors, the Foundation was able to restore the Church. We hired local artisans to do the work. For them, it was a work of Love. We also assisted at Santa Maria degli Angeli (also in Pietrelcina), Padre Pio's parish church, after it was left in ruins by an earthquake. We commissioned artists to create floor-to-ceiling murals of Angels, which now frame the altar there. At The Padre Pio Foundation of America, everything we have is for God's glory, His Church and in honor of Padre Pio. We pray each day that Padre Pio will intercede for all those who ask his help.
