Are you facing a spiritual battle?
You are not alone. One of Satan's tactics is to cause you to believe you have been stranded and abandoned. He wants you to feel alone without hope and without God. The enemy wants you to feel weak and powerless, with no strength left to fight. Do not succumb to his deceptive tactics.
In the book of Kings (2 Kings 6), the Bible describes how God provides an army of angels leading horses and chariots of fire to protect the prophet Elisha and his servant. He opens the servant's eyes so that he can see the angelic army surrounding them.
This divine intervention reassured Elisha's servant of God's power and presence. Before God opened his eyes, Elisha's servant was only able to see the enemy. When we are in the heat of the battle, we must rely on our eyes of faith and not be deceived into surrender. Only eyes of faith will allow us to see clearly when Satan attempts to blind us with dark deception.
As a born-again child of God, we are assured that the Lord is always with us and will give us the strength to overcome all attacks of the enemy.
1 Peter 4:12-13: "Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ's sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed."
How can we call ourselves "Overcomers" if we have never overcome anything? Philippians 4:13 reads, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me".
As we endure various trials in life, we must keep this promise at the forefront of our minds. Are you facing a spiritual battle? "The battle is the Lord's" is a quote from 1 Samuel 17:47, spoken by David before he fought Goliath. And as we know, things did not work out so well for Goliath. The battle IS the Lord's, so as we go out against the problem, He goes with us and fights for us. This gives us confidence and dissipates all fear.
Stop listening to the enemy's lies. Goliath told David he would feed David to the birds and beasts. A few minutes later, David cuts off Goliath's head with his own sword. When David confronts Goliath, he declares, "I come to you in the name of the Lord of Hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom you have defied".
You are not alone in the battle. We should learn this lesson from David and speak to our circumstances: "I come to you in the name of the Lord". God will honor your faith in Him and will give you the victory just as he did with David.
I hope this was an encouragement to you. I would like to invite you to join us at Mountain Life Church on Sunday mornings at 10:30 am. We are a Spirit-filled church congregation that honors the Lord and His Word. We believe in the gifts of the Spirit and are eager to pray for you and see God's blessings work in your life.
I have shared a link to a song that I find encouraging when facing a spiritual battle. I hope it blesses you!
