This past weekend, some members and friends of the Ordinariate in St. Louis visited Our Lady and Saint John Catholic Church, an Ordinariate parish in Louisville, KY. We’re grateful for the warm welcome and kind fellowship from Fr. Erdman and the parishioners.

Our prayers remain with all our friends in St. Louis!

Dear friends,

We have an important update to share with everyone regarding our efforts to establish an Ordinariate community here in St. Louis.

Unfortunately, the Ordinariate of the Chair of St. Peter has decided not to move forward with forming a formal community at this time. This decision is based, in part, on the hope that the best outcome would involve an Episcopal, Anglican, or Methodist cleric—or even an entire community—seeking to come into full communion with the Catholic Church.

While this news is disappointing, our commitment to gathering together remains strong. We are still exploring ways to come together, potentially hosting events like Evensong and enjoying the fellowship of those who cherish the English patrimony of the Ordinariate.

We encourage anyone with thoughts or concerns about this decision to reach out directly to the Ordinariate leadership in Houston. Let's stay hopeful and united as we continue our journey together.

In Christ,

The Ordinariate Members of St. Louis

“The principal mission of the ordinariate is evangelization. It’s sharing with people that might have grown up separated from the Catholic Church the fullness of the sacraments, saying, ‘Come take a look.’”

Despite the rapidly secularizing culture in the U.S., many of the ordinariate’s parishes, known for their reverent liturgies and respect for tradition, are flourishing.

Happy Feast of Our Lady of the Atonement!

“Imprint, O Lady, thy wounds upon my heart, that I may read therein sorrow and love; sorrow, to endure every sorrow for thee; love, to despise every love for thy sake.”

-St. Thomas More

Just a few more days until our first public Mass. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone this Sunday!

Happy Feast of the Body of Our Lord Jesus Christ!

“A cloud of incense was rising on high; the people suddenly all bowed low; what could it mean? The truth flashed on him, fearfully yet sweetly; it was the Blessed Sacrament - it was the Lord Incarnate who was on the altar, who had come to visit and bless his people. It was the Great Presence, which makes a Catholic Church different from every other place in the world; which makes it, as no other
place can be - holy."

-Saint John Henry Newman, in his novel 𝐿𝑜𝑠𝑠 𝑎𝑛𝑑 𝐺𝑎𝑖𝑛, describing the amazement of an Oxford student thinking of the claims of Catholicism when he enters a Catholic church.

Holy, holy, holy, Lord God Almighty, which was, and is, and is to come. Rev. iv. 8.

For there are three that bear record in heaven, the Father, and the Word, and the Holy Ghost; and these three are One. i John v. 7.
