Ryan Partington of the Crestwood 2nd Ward accepted a call to serve as a missionary in the Utah Layton Mission. His mission began in July. He is currently serving in the Farmington Oakridge Stake and the Kaysville Haight Creek Stake.

Elder Zachary Mortenson of the Crestwood 3rd Ward was called to serve in the Honduras Comayaguela Mission. Elder Mortenson began his service at the Provo, UT Missionary Training Center in July 2026, and then headed to Honduras about a week ago.

Elder Carson Clary of the LaGrange 1st Ward was called to serve in the Cape Coast, Ghana Mission. He began serving in July 2026. Elder Clary is currently serving in the Foso, Ghana area.

Sister Grace Clary of the Clear Creek Ward was called to serve in the Mexico, Mexicali Mission. She began her mission in July 2026. Sister Clary began at the Missionary Training Center in Mexico City, and then headed out to her assigned mission area.

Micah Christensen from the La Grange 1st Ward "loved being able to interact with and be submerged in so many cultures from Colombia to Peru and Mexico." Can you guess where he served his mission?

Boise, Idaho, probably wasn't the first place that sprang to your mind, but that is where Micah has spent the last two years, speaking the Spanish language. He says, "One of my favorite things from my mission is being able to have a front row seat to see a child of God go from hearing about the gospel for the first time to fully accepting and embracing it. Going from the first knock at the door to being in the Temple with them is incredibly special."

In his missionary service, Micah learned the importance of giving your will to God and making sacrifices for Him, just as Christ sacrificed for us. He testifies, "Jesus Christ absolutely lives. The key to having the Spirit is remembering Him always. Christ's atonement is infinite in every capability and enough to transform us all. Christ's plan and timing are perfectly customized to what will be best for us."

Micah finished his mission in June 2026 and will continue his studies at Brigham Young University and "see where he ends up."

Brendan Tarbet from the Crestwood 3rd Ward was a Spanish-speaking missionary in Everett Washington, returning home in July 2026. He says, "Serving stateside Spanish-speaking meant I was able to interact with a lot of people from different countries, which meant I had some pretty delicious food." He enjoyed the summer season in Everett, because "the other seasons are very rainy and cloudy, but the summer has a moderate temperature and sunny weather all the time."

Brendan appreciates when the sun is shining, but more importantly he has a testimony of the Son of God, our Savior Jesus Christ. "I know that Jesus Christ loves me and loves me personally. He died for me so that I can repent and be saved." He learned on his mission the importance of doing little things every day, such as reading the scriptures and praying. These daily habits brought him closer to Jesus Christ.

Brendan is excited to start his studies at Brigham Young University, currently undecided on his major but eager to explore.

Xander Roberts of the La Grange 2nd Ward finished his full-time mission in July 2026. He served in the California Los Angeles Mission and liked "the wide cultural diversity that is found within LA," including the food. He says the people he met were very nice.

Xander learned the importance of doing small and simple things, like studying the scriptures, praying and going to church. He says, "My testimony of my Savior has truly grown on my mission. One of the most important things I did on my mission was developing my relationship with Jesus Christ. Jesus Christ has given us the greatest gift of all; He has given us the Atonement, a way that we can improve and change to constantly grow closer to our Father in Heaven. He has given us the only way that we can make it back to our Father again. He perfectly understands each and every single one of us and loves us all individually. I love my Savior, Jesus Christ, and I invite everyone to constantly grow their relationship with Jesus Christ. I know that as they do, they will be able to feel the ever-redeeming power of Jesus Christ in their lives and be able to feel joy through their trials. I know this to be true more than any other thing. I know Jesus Christ will carry us back home. I know He has paid the price for all of us. I know He is there with open arms waiting for all of us. I know this because He is there for me. When I was ready to lay aside all my sins, He wrapped me in His arms of never-ending love, so I know He can for everyone else."

Sister Bethany Jansson from the LaGrange 1st Ward was called to serve in the California, Santa Rosa Mission. Her service began in June 2026. She is currently serving in Ukiah, CA.

Trey Neal from the La Grange 1st Ward returned home from the Brazil Natal Mission in June 2026, where he spoke Portuguese. His favorite thing about Brazil was the people, who "are all in different parts of life but all are kind and have love for anyone who comes to their door. Brazil has a great culture of everyone having each others' backs." Their examples helped him learn and develop a Christ-like love for everyone, a love that goes beyond only the people you know.

Trey also learned as a missionary that "as long as you’re obedient, you’re entitled to the perfect plan that God has for you. It’s the plan according to God's will, not ours. Faith and obedience bring great miracles." Continuing to apply this lesson, Trey says his future plans are to "trust in God and do my best to make myself a usable tool in God's hands. I don’t have a perfect picture of what’s going to happen but I'm going to take all the steps of faith I can to be the most moldable person possible."

Trey testifies that Jesus Christ is a perfect Being with perfect love for each of us, and that "as we strive to love others more perfectly, we’ll develop and become closer to that perfection Christ has." Loving God and loving those around you is a powerful thing, as Trey discovered in the Brazil Natal Mission.

Elder Elijah Wentz of the Shelbyville Ward was called to serve in the Japan Sendai Mission. His mission began in May 2026. Currently, Elder Wentz is serving in the Odate branch in Akita prefecture.
