Here is the information for the services for Bro Tommy Purvis who served as our pastor for a while:
Please keep this information:

A Celebration of Life for Tommy G. Purvis will be at 1:00 on Saturday February 7th at Ballardsville Baptist Church near LaGrange. (weather pending)

The next celebration will be in Iuka MS at New Prospect BC at 1:00 on April 18th.

In lieu of flowers, please donate in memory of Tommy to either:
Lexington KY Shriner’s Children’s Hospital, 110 Conn Terrace, Lexington KY 40508

Or

Kosair for Kids, 982 Eastern Parkway, Louisville KY. 40217

There were many organizations he supported but these two had been his (our) focus for a number of years.

It is with heavy hearts we share the passing of our dear friend and former Pastor.

Tommy G. Purvis was born in New Albany Mississippi on May 20, 1948
He passed on January 20, 2026.

Due to the uncertain weather conditions there will be a Celebration of Life scheduled at a later date.

A more detailed obituary will be posted in the coming days. 🙏🏼📖⛪️

"Small churches offer deep relational ministry. In a culture that often feels impersonal and transactional, smaller congregations provide what sociologists call "high-touch" community. People know one another by name. They notice when someone is missing. They share meals, burdens and celebrations together.

This kind of ministry is not secondary - it is essential. Jesus built his church on relationships, not programs. In smaller churches, evangelism is personal, discipleship is intentional and pastoral care happens naturally through proximity. The intimacy of small-church life mirrors the early church more closely than many other models.

As a small church, this is spot on. If you are missing the intimacy of a small church, please consider visiting us. We would love to spend time getting to know you and if needed, introduce you to Jesus.

We are saddened to announce the passing of Robert G. Parrish. He was a life long member of Harrods Creek Baptist Church, and a Deacon for many years.
Visitation will be Friday from 4 to 8 at Heady Radcliffe Funeral Home in Lagrange. Funeral will be Saturday at 11. There will be graveside service at Harrods Creek Cemetery in Brownsboro.
Please keep his family in your prayers.
