Neurodiverse Workshop
Saturday, November 9, 2024
1:00 PM to 4:00 PM ET

Neurodiversity is a growing reality in our world and in our churches. The needs of some children and adults in our worship and ministry settings spaces may be changing and growing. This ongoing discovery is why the Kentucky Annual Conference has put together a team to help your staff and congregations grow in their capacity to support neurodiverse children and adults.

This 4 part training will cover the start and growth of special needs ministries in local churches, a basic overview of best practices and language around supporting people with special needs, and a continuum of support offered with meetings geared towards the specific needs of your churches.

Gracia Abundante Hispanic Ministry launched this year to minister to the Hispanic population of Oldham County. This is a creative, collaborative effort between 4 United Methodist churches: Crestwood, Mt. Tabor, St. John & Shiloh.

Just this past month, Gracia Abundante celebrated a partnership with Oldham County Adult Education to offer ESL and GED classes. Furthermore, the ministry hosted its first worship service, which included 24 adults and 12 children.
