Hey Joy Kids parents!

We don’t always have the greatest memories. I sometimes don’t even remember what I had for breakfast! …Wait, what was I talking about?... Oh, right! Some things are important for us to remember! This week, we’ll learn about a time when the Israelites passed a major milestone on their journey to the promised land. They took this special opportunity to stop and look back at all of the things that God had done for them along the way. Let’s join them, and give God a huge applause for everything He’s done!

When you start your morning of family worship, we want to encourage you to read through the Memory Verse (below) with your kids, this is a great way to engage spiritually with your family and get them excited and familiar with where we will be headed as a family on Sunday.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Crossing The Jordan: The Promised Land
Big Idea: God wants us to remember all of the great things He has done for us.
Memory Verse: “Remember the wonderful things he has done. Remember his miracles and how he judged our enemies.” Psalm 105:5 (NIrV)

With life moving a hundred miles per hour, it can be hard to remember to look back from time to time and see how God has moved in our own lives. But I can attest that stopping every once in a while, taking a breath, and calling to mind all of the ways that God has been present in my own story can be so life-giving. My hope for us this week is that we’ll take that extra moment to thank God for all of the ways that he has loved us and been there for us throughout our lives.

Hey Joy Kids parents!

Scary, slithering SNAKES! I’d be scared too with poisonous snakes everywhere! This week, we’re learning about the time that Israel had a bit of snake problem. They were in quite the predicament! It’s a good thing then, that God, being the merciful and loving God that He is, stepped in to help. Isn’t it so awesome that God always finds a way to save us? All we need to do is look to Him.

When you start your morning of family worship, we want to encourage you to read through the Memory Verse (below) with your kids, this is a great way to engage spiritually with your family and get them excited and familiar with where we will be headed as a family on Sunday.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: The Bronze Snake
Big Idea: God is merciful and has lifted His Son upon a cross so that we might be saved from death.
Memory Verse: “Moses lifted up the snake in the desert. In the same way, the Son of Man must also be lifted up. Then everyone who believes may have eternal life in Him.” John 3:14-15 (NIrV)

The Israelites were trapped—surrounded on all sides by poisonous snakes. We can feel trapped too—trapped in our sin or in our guilt. But the same God who saved them thousands of years ago will save us too. Even when we’re not perfect, God makes a way for us. Even when we feel surrounded, He’s with us. My prayer for us today is that we’ll never forget that our failures will never exhaust the boundless mercy and love of our God.

Hey Joy Kids parents!

Nobody ever said that following God would be boring! God calls us into big, huge, exciting, and yes—even scary things sometimes. But we can know that when we follow His lead, we don’t ever have to do it alone! This week, we’re looking at the story of the twelves spies as they explore the promised land. Will they have faith that God will come through, or will they let their fear get the best of them? Come and join us to find out!

When you start your morning of family worship, we want to encourage you to read through the Memory Verse (below) with your kids, this is a great way to engage spiritually with your family and get them excited and familiar with where we will be headed as a family on Sunday.

Here is a snapshot of the lesson details for this week:

Bible Story: Twelve Spies Explore Canaan
Big Idea: God gives us a spirit of power, so we can have the courage to follow Him anywhere.
Memory Verse: “God gave us his Spirit. And the Spirit doesn’t make us weak and fearful. Instead, the Spirit gives us power and love. He helps us control ourselves.” 2 Timothy 1:7 (NIrV)

Once you become a Christian, all of your problems are solved, right? Right…? We all know that that isn’t the case. We’ve all been through hard times. We all struggle with fear when we face the unknown, but as Christians we know that God gives us a spirit of power and love to get through anything. My prayer for us this week is that we can share the faith of Joshua and Caleb. With God backing us up, we can even conquer giants.
