Last week we started at the beginning of the Bible with the story of creation. We will be working out way through the entire bible teaching some stories through every chapter.

Today the kids will be learning about Cain and Abel, what it means to give your best to God, and why jealousy is dangerous.

Tomorrow morning we will be discussing peer pressure. The kids will be playing a couple of rounds of Potter and clay where 1 child is the potter and their partner will be their clay to mold however they choose. We will then discuss how God is the potter and we are His clay but we sometimes allow others to mold us with peer pressure. Sometimes others can mold us in ways that help us grow and reinforce us, but what happens when we give into peer pressure and allow others to distort the masterpiece that God is creating in us?

The kids finished up their 3rd and final week in our shedding the labels the world places on you and replacing them with biblical truths lesson today. The first photo of the blue torn, crumbled, and taped piece of paper represents us slowly being torn down by the world’s labels (fat, ugly, unwanted, mistake, liar, sinner, etc.) That paper can be fixed and slowly put back together, but it’s still going to show signs of trauma.

What happens when we are reminded of what God says about us? We begin to replace the world’s labels with biblical truths and become reinforced and harder to rip apart!

The kids finished up their group posters representing what they have learned over the last few weeks. They were then challenged to find one person that they might have hurt with their words recently and find a way to compliment them and build them back up.

Wanted to share one of the posters that some of our students worked on today, they did such a great job!

The left side of the poster is labels (names and derogatory terms) that we carry from things people say to us

The right side of the poster are biblical truths that tell us who God says we are!

Tomorrow will be week #2 on shedding the labels that the world places on us and replacing them with who God says we are! The kids will be writing down a few labels 🏷️ that they have carried the weight of (ugly, loser, mistake, unwanted, etc.) and playing a game of trash 🗑️ can basketball 🏀 to trash the world’s labels. They will then be given a 🆕 biblical truth label to replace it with. We will continue discussing how to be reminded of who the Bible says we are and how to walk in that truth.

As requested by the kids, we will be doing some poster boards again! The kids will get to work in teams to design their poster boards over the new couple of weeks.

Since the kids have started back to school, we have decided to do a lesson plan on representing God in our everyday lives. We will be discussing how we can extend grace to others the way that God has extended grace to us and how can we show others the love of Christ.

We will be finishing up our video on the life of Joseph this morning and then discussing the different ways that God can turn our bad situations into a testimony.

This morning we will be discussing the miracle of Jesus feeding the 5000 and how he works through us to show His glory.

This morning the kids will be reeling in the nets of fish and bringing them to shore to share a meal with Jesus (goldfish). We will be reading the story about Jesus reappearing to His disciples on the shore after His resurrection and how He prepared fish for them to eat. We will be discussing what it means to have faith and listen to Jesus along with how Jesus came to serve us and how we can follow His example!

This morning Lulu and Tricia will be teaching about the time that Jesus walked across the water. What type of faith would it take for us to step out of the comfort of a boat and obey His command to come to Him on the water?
