On April 19th, Pastor Dan's son, Mick Retzlaff, brought us the sermon entitled Gospel Fueled. Mick serves the church in many ways-- teaching in the Children's Ministry and in Sunday School, and most recently, filling the pulpit in his father's recent absence due to illiness.

We are thankful for the men in our church who bring the Word of God faithfully to His people -- Sunday School, in the pulpit on Sundays, and on Wednesday nights.

Antioch Baptist Church Covenant

By God’s grace, we the members of Antioch Baptist Church gather as an assembly of brothers and sisters in the faith who have repented of our sins and believed in the one-time saving work of Jesus Christ on the cross for the forgiveness of our sins. As a body of believers, we give ourselves unto the Lord and affirm one another as citizens of God’s kingdom through the waters of baptism and the partaking of the Lord’s Supper. In full reliance upon the Lord’s gracious aid, we do now solemnly and joyfully renew our covenant with one another as brothers and sisters united in Christ.
• We will diligently work and pray for the unity of the Spirit and the bond of peace.
• We will walk together in brotherly love as Christ commands, caring for and attending to the needs of one another.
• We will not forsake the assembling of ourselves together, nor will we neglect to pray for one another, but we will regularly attend the church’s gatherings and faithfully pray for one another.
• We will seek to lead one another towards Christlike living through the encouragement and admonishment which is according to God’s Word.
• We will seek to proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ as necessary for salvation to our families, friends, and all whom God gives us opportunity to witness His good news to.
• We will rejoice at one another’s joys and tenderly bear one another’s sorrows and burdens.
• By God’s Divine aid, we will live as ambassadors for Christ in this world, denying ungodliness and worldly desires and remembering that through our baptism we have been symbolically buried in death and resurrected in life through Christ to live a new and holy life for the glory of God.
• We will work together to maintain a faithful gospel witness in our worship, conducting and partaking of the ordinances Christ gave to the church, meeting the needs of our neighbors, and the spreading of the gospel of Jesus Christ throughout the world.
• We will give of our time, treasures, and talents to the ministry of this local body of believers for the furtherance of the Lord’s kingdom.
• If we are to leave this local assembly of believers, we will endeavor to join another Christ-centered, gospel preaching church as soon as possible to enable us to continue to carry out the spirit of this covenant and the principles of God’s Word.
May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.

Good Friday and Easter Messages

We had a blessed time at Antioch Baptist this weekend.

We gathered on Friday evening for a Good Friday service where we recalled the Fall of Man as recorded for us in Genesis 3 and confessed that each of us is a sinner-- deserving death as Romans 3 and 6 tells us. We then read through Matthew's gospel account of Jesus' crucifixion, death, and burial in addition to remembering the sacrifice that Jesus made with his body and blood by observing the Lord's Supper.

On Sunday... HE IS RISEN! (He is risen, indeed!) We celebrated the blessed Sunday morning that Jesus Christ arose from the grave! Such a sweet time singing anthems of victory and praise to our Lord and Savior!

The 2 part message from these services is from Acts 2:22-39. Check out the messages entitled "God's Long-Awaited Prophecy Fulfilled."
