FLASH FLOOD UPDATE - Rasuwa / Nuwakot Nepal
Supplies, support, encouragement and enlightening is being delivered. Pastor Shakti led the effort delivering three truck loads of supplies to Nuwakot, has returned to KTM to reload and go again. Necessities such as cooking utensils, gas stoves, toothpaste, sanitary supplies and food are given freely to all those in need.

Pastor Chandra lost everything; his family, his church members and his home. Though he is grieving immensely, his smile can only be explained by his faith. Joy is constant and eternal; not subject to earthly storms and tragedies.

Pastor Dawa is near Rasuwa (border with Tibet) passing out supplies and much needed cooking gas. Dawa, while near Nuwakot, provided police officers with sanitary gloves and masks as they respectfully prepared the bodies of those who had perished to be transported to KTM.

The JOY group is open to all senior adults (55+). They meet the first Tuesday of every month at 10am. Bring a potluck dish and come enjoy a special program every month and some great fellowship too!😀

Historic flooding in Indiana last month left many residents there with severe damage!💔 A few of our own FBC members 🩷and others from area churches are on the Florida Baptist Disaster Relief team currently working in Indiana!🔨🔧🛠

A message from their team: " Pray for the people we are ministering to as they have lost almost everything in the flood. 🙏We are going in their houses and sanitizing. As we talk with them and pray with them and give them a Bible, they are sharing their hurt. They have some level of ptsd as the water came to their ceilings and destroyed everything in their homes. One man was rescued from his roof as he did not want to leave, never expecting the flood to be so severe. Pray for us to share Christ effectively and be able to encourage their hearts. We are also today doing chain saw work and would appreciate your prayers for safety. "

PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT UPDATE FROM PASTOR CHUCK REGARDING NEPAL:

FLASH FLOOD UPDATE - Rasuwa / Nuwakot Nepal
Your overwhelming response to yesterday’s update is a major blessing! Contributions flowed in all day and into the early evening. Thank you!

We are actively coordinating with Pastor Shakti and Pastor Dawa as they are leading the relief effort. The first phase of relief supplies are being delivered as you read this morning's update. Mission Ascend and our friends at Hope Has A Name (Steve Jones) are partnering and coordinating efforts for the long journey ahead.

The magnitude of the disaster is hitting home now, no longer just news. Shakti texted us overnight the following based on his assessments of the numerous pastors and churches he mentors in the effected areas.

“Thank you for your prayers support. There are some updated from district leaders. Please continue to pray urgently for the affected churches, pastors, families, and communities in Rasuwa and Nuwakot.”

Our daily devotional verse this morning was 2 Corinthians 9:11 NLT “Yes, you will be enriched in every way so that you can always be generous. And when we take your gifts to those who need them, they will thank God.” Please note, this is not coincidental. This is how He speaks through His word.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE FROM OUR MISSIONS PASTOR, CHUCK WALTHALL:

FLASH FLOOD UPDATE - Rasuwa Nepal
The disaster in Nepal is severe. As news continues to be posted and we receive multiple updates daily, Mission Ascend has begun sending relief support.🙏

This morning Pastor Dawa texted us: “I am planning to go for field visit. But have nothing to distribute. People are calling and asking for help. They need food, clothes and mattress because they lost everything.” We processed an immediate $1,000 USD transfer to Dawa as an initial effort.

If you would like to designate a contribution to help in this relief effort, simply visit https://www.missionascend.org/contact. Donations can be made via PayPal, Credit Card, etc. Additionally, checks can be mailed to Mission Ascend, 200 Swift Creek Drive, Cantonment, FL 32533.

The needs of this disaster are excessive and expected to last for some time. Though tragic we must see His sovereign hand; an invitation to meet needs and share His love with those that are suffering. You have faithfully supported Mission Ascend monthly to meet the needs of our pastors and leaders. Please receive this as an additional opportunity to impact the lives of those in need and to advance His Kingdom.
