Chamma Ling Colorado is a retreat center for those who would like to practice in individual cabins on land similar to Tibet given to Rinpoche by the Manitou Foundation. It is the perfect setting in nature surrounded by the Sangre De Cristo mountains in Crestone where one can focus on all meditation practices including skygazing, five elements, silent or dark retreats. The vision for Chamma Ling Colorado is a dream of Tenzin Wangyal Rinpoche that his students and supporters have retreat cabins in such a place, one that has long been sacred to native American indigenous peoples. The Tibetan teachers who visit often remark on how much it reminds them of Tibet. The retreat cabins have been built through private donations, from revenues from the Bon teachings that have occurred here, and from the support of Rinpoche’s many students who helped to manifest his vision of such a sacred setting for practices, teachings, and solitude.
The comfortable cabins are nestled amongst pinon pine trees with views of the San Luis Valley in a tranquil land of spaciousness, stillness, and sacredness. Each cabin is heated and air conditioned, has a main room with bed and altar, a small fully equipped kitchen, and private bathroom with shower. The cabins have internet access for teachings one might like to view to enhance practices, and they can be totally darkened for dark retreat. Visit “How to reserve a cabin” on the Chamma Ling Colorado website for more information about cabin rentals and renting the larger Community house for small teachings.
Chamma Ling is a non-profit Colorado corporation. All donations are fully tax deductible.
