Friday Devotion
We keep looking at J.D. Walt's.
Today, we are looking for Matthew 3:1–3 NIV
In those days John the Baptist came, preaching in the wilderness of Judea and saying, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” This is he who was spoken of through the prophet Isaiah:

“A voice of one calling in the wilderness,
‘Prepare the way for the Lord,
make straight paths for him.’”

The kingdom of God is a revolution of the heart—every heart—coming into allegiance to God’s anointed.

Today, we are looking for Mark 1:14–15 NIV
After John was put in prison, Jesus went into Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God. “The time has come,” he said. “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the good news!”

Through his message, and his ministry, Jesus went beyond words; he demonstrated that the kingdom of God was among them through signs and wonders.

Wednesday Devotion
We keep looking at J.D. Walt's.
Today, we are looking for Acts 1:1–2 NIV
In my former book, Theophilus, I wrote about all that Jesus began to do and to teach until the day he was taken up to heaven, after giving instructions through the Holy Spirit to the apostles he had chosen.

When we take small risks of faith, even practicing with people who know us and love us, we begin to see that God does not use the “anointed,” but rather the obedient.

Friday Devotion
We keep looking at J.D. Walt's.
Today, we are looking for Ephesians 6:18–20 NIV
And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people. Pray also for me, that whenever I speak, words may be given me so that I will fearlessly make known the mystery of the gospel, for which I am an ambassador in chains. Pray that I may declare it fearlessly, as I should.

What might it mean and be like to pray with, into, and out of the mind of Christ?

Wednesday Devotion
We keep looking at J.D. Walt's.
Today, we are looking for Ephesians 6:23–24 NIV
Peace to the brothers and sisters, and love with faith from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ. Grace to all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with an undying love.

Grace brought the greatest justice through the gravest injustice: the death of Jesus. Peace brought the greatest victory from the gravest loss: the resurrection of Jesus.

Thursday Devotion
We keep looking at J.D. Walt's.
Today, we are looking for Ephesians 6:1–4 NIV
Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise—“so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.” Fathers, do not exasperate your children; instead, bring them up in the training and instruction of the Lord.

We can’t become perfect parents, but we can become parents of extraordinary grace.
