We are preparing for the free will donation rummage sale on Saturday from 8am-2pm! We will plan to post pictures of some items each day leading up to the sale. Today we are starting off with children’s clothing and shoes—girls and boys ranging from 12m to 10/12.

Our Salem church family mourns the loss of Christine Moffett. She touched so many lives in the short amount of time that she lived in Creston. Our prayers are with her family, especially her daughter Sheila and son-in-law Daniel. We will celebrate her faith in Jesus and the joy she brought to our lives on June 22 at 11am. Family visitation is at 10am prior to the service.

This is why we welcome children at the Lord's Table and why we are finding all kinds of ways for children to participate in ministry alongside adults. God and his love are experienced in community.

It may be important to teach children theology, but kids are much more likely to experience God and his love through something simpler: the presence of caring, trustworthy adults.

That’s according to a new Harvard-World Vision study that surveyed 4,600 children worldwide and affirms the importance of family in spiritual formation.

Several of the Long Range Planning Committee members ventured to Accura Healthcare on Friday to visit with residents during their ice cream social. Salem is working with their activities director, Tammi, to plan ways to minister to the residents and staff. The kids are going to use their Noisy Offering to shop for art supplies for the residents and hope to join them in creating some art together.

June 3 - No Choir—choir is off for the summer

June 4 - Pastor out of the office; Miriam Circle, 6:30pm; No Bell Choir (meeting the 2nd & 4th Thursday at 6:15pm over the summer)

June 5 - Long Range Planning Committee attending Ice Cream Social at Accura Healthcare of Creston at 2pm - carpooling from Salem at 1:45pm (Others welcome)

June 7 - Children’s Sunday School, 9am; Adult Sunday School, 9am;
Worship Service with Communion, 10:00am followed by Fellowship (cookies and coffee)

AA meets Tuesdays, 7:30pm; Fridays, Noon; Saturdays, 7pm and Sundays, 2pm (enter through west doors)
