David Samuel "Sam" White
( January 7, 1941 - June 14, 2026 )
David Samuel “Sam” White age 85 of Alpharetta, Georgia went to be with the Lord on June 14, 2026. He was born on January 7, 1941 in Stockwell, Indiana to the parents of Cyrce David White and Jeppie Jones Ellis White.
Sam started milking cows at the age of 8 and later as a teenager, farmed with his father. He attended Darlington High School where he enjoyed playing basketball. Sam was the Valedictorian of his class of 1959. He was married to the love of his life Mary Julia Elmore White. They were blessed with 66 wonderful years of marriage and three children.
He farmed for several years with his brother before becoming a trooper with the Indiana State Police from 1968-1978. He was the Town Marshal of Brookston, Indiana from 1980-1989. He also worked for a security company guarding federal prisoners in various hospitals.
Sam always had a strong faith in God and a love for our country. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Tavares, Florida for many years and enjoyed singing in the choir and being involved in Men’s Breakfast meetings. He also enjoyed praising the Lord through singing by traveling with a trio group. Others knew he loved the Lord by the hat that he wore “Jesus is my Boss”.
He is survived by his wife, and three children Rebecca Cox married to Kevin Cox of FL, Gerry White married to Melanie White of WV and Cynthia Fulco married to Louis Fulco of GA.
In addition to his wife and 3 children, he is survived by 7 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his 4 half-brothers and 2 half-sisters, and one brother Robert E. White, Sr.
Visitation will be on Monday, June 22, 2026 from 10:00am-11:00am at Burkhart Funeral Home with services following at 11:00am. Burial will be at Waynetown Masonic Cemetery in Waynetown following the service.
