When contemplating the Sacred Heart as the source of justice and love, we connect Christ’s love for us with our love for others. As Pope Francis said in Dilexit Nos, “Our best response to the love of Christ’s heart is to love our brothers and sisters. There is no greater way for us to return love for love” (no. 167). As we meditate on the love Christ has for us, let us pray this Prayer to the Sacred Heart of Jesus for Love and Mercy.

Lord Jesus, You gave your life for us. Your Sacred Heart is ablaze with love. Your hand extends towards me, and towards all, offering love, mercy, and healing. Sacred Heart of Jesus may your love transform me. Burn away my hesitation that I may become your love and radiate your mercy. Amen.

Novena al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús en preparación para la consagración de los Estados Unidos al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús.
Al contemplar el Sagrado Corazón como santuario de justicia y de amor, conectamos el amor de Cristo por nosotros con nuestro amor por los demás. Como dijo el Papa Francisco en Dilexit Nos, “la mejor respuesta al amor de su Corazón es el amor a los hermanos, no hay mayor gesto que podamos ofrecerle para devolver amor por amor” (n. 167). Mientras meditamos en el amor que Cristo tiene por nosotros, oremos esta Oración al Sagrado Corazón de Jesús para el amor y la misericordia.

The Diocese of St. Augustine Young Adult Ministry will host a Theology of Tap event Monday, June 1 at Mellow Mushroom located at 3611 St. Johns Ave., Jacksonville from 7 to 9 p.m.

Mike Day, director of the diocese family life office, will be the night's featured speaker talking about communication essentials by nurturing connection in every relationship. It is a free event and everyone ages 21-39 are welcome to attend.
