It’s possible to miss the heart of God while saying we’re pursuing Jesus. What’s his heart, people. Anytime “our” walk leads us away from people (the ones not like us, different than us, etc… our biblical neighbors) were actually walking away from Jesus not with him.

εὐλογέω

This is the Greek word “bless” ( eulogeo) a compound of the words eu and logos. The word eu means good or well and depicts any positive emotion. It is where we get the word euphoric. The second part of the word eulogeo is the word logos, which simply means words. But when these two words are compounded into the word eulogeo, it means to say good or positive things. The word eulogeo is where we get the word eulogy, which is the sermon preached at a funeral. It is supposed to be a time when good words are spoken in remembrance of the person who died.

This is what we’re called to at all times about the people around us. I know it says those who persecute but the problem is too often we don’t even do that about people who disagree with us or think differently than us. We are to always be Life Speakers. Sometimes I have to stop and remind myself of these things.

The Greek tense describes a continual action, implying that we must speak well of these people again and again and again. Sometimes the death of the tongue is a hard one.

Tomorrow night we kick off a new mid-week Bible Study on Paul's letter to the Colossians. Sunday is Easter and we hope to see all our Summit Life family as we worship the risen and discuss being "Made Alive In Him."
