All that we have or ever will have is a gift from God. Let us never forget that, without Him, we would have nothing. Too often, we talk about the things that are important to us, but we leave Him out and we don’t give Him the credit He’s due. He deserves recognition and gratitude for everything we’ve been blessed with. When we talk, let’s find ways to boast about the Lord, who is so good and kind.

Peter, his partners and their crew had worked all night trying to catch fish, but they had come up empty-handed. I imagine, they were exhausted and discouraged. Then Jesus made a request that made no sense to Peter. He told him to take the boat back out to deeper water and drop the nets. In Peter’s mind, it was a waste of time and effort, but he did it anyway. It didn’t make sense, but he did it and, boy, was he glad he did. They caught such a large number of fish that they had to get a second boat to help them. It was a lesson in faith and trust. Like Peter, there are times when the Lord will ask us to do things that just don’t make sense. When He does, and we’re obedient, He will bless us beyond our expectations. We have to throw logic out the window and cling to our faith. We have to trust that He has better in store for us, even if we have a hard time seeing how it will all work out. Is there something that you know God is asking you to do? Have faith. Trust Him. Be obedient, even when it doesn’t make sense. When it’s all said and done, you’ll be glad you listened.
