Humility is not thinking lowly of yourself, but thinking accurately of yourself.
Humility is not self-deprecation, but confidence rightly placed in God —the God who made you and wants you to be the full you that He made. There are things we can only do in his power and it takes trust and surrender.
Humility is knowing both who you are and who you are not.
When our confidence is rightly placed in God instead of our own abilities, then there is freedom to fail, to have limits. There’s also freedom for God to do so much more than just what we’re able to on our own!
Defensiveness falls away and our heart is open to learn— and God’s power is made perfect in our weakness.
Humility isn’t undervaluing ourselves. It’s knowing our value is in Him and was set at the Cross— it’s not of ourselves or anything we’ve done.
