Calling all faith leaders and advocates! Please JOIN US for our annual Fighting Poverty With Faith Vigil outside the statehouse on January 4th at 3pm!

Together, we will call on our elected officials to govern with care, compassion and wisdom and speak on the coalition's legislative priorities for 2022. Please note: strict social distancing protocols will be practiced and the event will be hosted outside.

If you're clergy, and you'd like to participate & help read the names of our elected officials, please sign-up here: https://bit.ly/31P8eVI

For those that cannot make it to the event in-person, we will stream the vigil live on Facebook. We look forward to seeing you there!

Our organization just signed on to the Raising RI campaign.

The Campaign seeks to increase the RI Works benefit which hasn’t been adjusted for inflation in 30 years. RI is the only state in New England that hasn’t increased the benefit and it is the lowest among the states – at $6/person/day. The Campaign will raise the benefit from $554 to $915 for a family of 3. We also seek to provide the yearly $100 clothing allowance to all children in the family. For future economic security, we want to change the RI Works law so that parents can go to CCRI for 2 years and let parents keep the RI Works benefit for 6 months when they get a job.

Please complete the form at the links below to help the organizers identify how you can take action throughout the current campaign year. You will receive e-mails from the Campaign about opportunities to testify in support of the bills, contact your state legislators and other easy steps to help the lowest-income children in our state. Together, we can improve the current and future lives of our children. If you have follow up questions upon completing this form, or would like more information about the Campaign or tell us ways you can help, please contact Linda Katz at [email protected].
