Today we remember the Lord’s Crucifixion and Death. Take a moment to reflect on Christ’s greatest act of love by listening to RI composer Tom Kendzia’s “Pieta.” A meditation on Jesus’ crucifixion through the eyes of His Mother, the Blessed Mother.

Tonight at 7pm we begin the Paschal Triduum with the celebration of the Mass of the Lord’s Supper. We recall on this first day of the Triduum the gift of the Eucharist and Jesus’s command that we serve each each other. We cannot separate the Eucharist from service to each other. Let us allow the Eucharist to strengthen us for our Christian walk of faith in which we seek to serve each other in the Lord’s name.
Our offertory hymn is “O Jesus, We Adore Thee.”

As we journey through this Lenten season, we might be tempted to view God as someone who is just waiting for us to sin so He can zap us with a lightening bolt. Nothing is further from the truth. In this weekend’s Gospel, Jesus encounters the Samaritan woman, and as Jesus displays over and over again in the Gospels, Jesus shows her mercy and kindness. Yes, we are accountable for our (in)actions, but we are always, always met with mercy and kindness by our loving God.
Our Communion hymn is: “The Lord is Kind and Merciful.”

This weekend’s Gospel relates the story of Jesus’ Transfiguration; a foreshadowing of His Resurrection. As Jesus took Peter, James and John up the mountain and allowed them to witness His glorified body, let us allow Jesus to come with us on our prayer journey. If we allow Jesus to accompany us then we will share Peter’s words: “Lord, it is good that we are here.”
Our processional hymn is “‘Tis Good, Lord, To Be Here”

In this weekend’s Gospel, Jesus faces temptation in the desert with complete trust in the Father.

Our Communion hymn this weekend, “Be With Me Lord,” gives us the same prayer Jesus lived: “Be with me, Lord, when I am in trouble.”

When we face our own desert moments, we’re reminded — God is near.

Fully Known & Called to More ✨
"O God, you search me and you know me..." 🎶

The beauty of this hymn is the reminder that God sees us exactly as we are. In Matthew 5:17-37, Jesus takes that truth a step further. He shows us that because God knows our hearts, our faith isn't just about following "rules"—it’s about integrity.

Whether it’s how we handle anger or simply keeping our word, Jesus calls us to a "heart-first" kind of life. When we realize we are already fully known by Him, we can stop performing and start living with authentic grace.
Reflection: If God sees the heart, how does that change your "Yes" today? 🕊️

St. Mark's Church is currently undertaking an initiative to grow our music ministry. Nine years ago, we resurrected the parish choir after many years of being dormant. We grew the choir to 20 members, but like so many facets of our lives, COVID hit us hard and our numbers dropped to around 10. We’...
