Coweta Baptist Church

Coweta Baptist Church We are a Sovereign Grace Baptist Church in Coweta, Oklahoma. Our desire is to evangelize our community proclaiming God's Grace and Mercy!

Here at Coweta Baptist, we are truly a church family. The fellowship is special. The support and encouragement of the people are very important to us. We believe in sweet Christian unity and fellowship until the Lord comes. We believe in a Godly Christian liberty, and that we have been made free by the grace of God for the purpose of serving him in our personal lives, families and church. All that

we believe and practice should be built upon Jesus Christ, the Sovereignty of God, and the Doctrines of Grace. Our goals are:

*To exalt the Lord Jesus Christ and the finished work He has accomplished through his death, burial, and resurrection, in all that we do.

*To be a witness of the Gospel, to Coweta, the area around us, and the world. For each of us to be growing in the Grace and Knowledge of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ – and to have a close walk with Him.

*To stand for the truth of the Word of God, in a day of religious deception and greed.

*To have a church with an exciting, enjoyable fellowship and worship that is both respectful and reverent, being always mindful of our unworthiness and need of God in our lives. Come, and be part of what God is doing at Coweta Baptist Church!

Thought for the Day, June 11, 2026,

Prayer was never designed by God to relieve us of our responsibilities and encourage laziness. It is not sufficient for me to pray that God will grant us a fruitful garden this summer—though I should pray about this, as about “everything:” Philippians 4:6. No, I must dig and plant, water and w**d it.
The prayerless soul is a proud one, for his refusal to receive strength from God is tantamount to saying that he can get along through the day without Him.

Faith, dear reader, is neither encouraged nor discouraged by anything we find in ourselves; it is neither encouraged by our graces nor discouraged by our sinfulness; for faith LOOKS OUT OF SELF UNTO ANOTHER. Nothing will afford such encouragement to believing prayer as a sight of the LAMB on His mediatorial throne (Revelation 5:6) . No matter how desperate may be our case, how often we have failed and fallen, how low we have sunk it is ALWAYS the believer’s privilege to turn unto his Redeemer and say, “Look Thou upon me, and be merciful unto me, as Thou usest to do unto those that love Thy name” (Psalm 119:132).

Thought for the Day, June 9, 2026,

I shall never be “vigilant” about external temptations till I have learned to “gird up the loins” of my mind (1 Peter 1:13), and to “rule my own spirit” (Proverbs 16:32). Let us then seek grace to be “vigilant” over our minds and bring “into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ” (2 Corinthians 10:5). Let us seek to be “vigilant” over our moods, watchful lest Satan should gain an advantage. If depressed, he will seek and tempt me to despondency and despair. But I must “resist” that inclination. If light and giddy, he will tempt to fleshly mirth and hilarity, which ill-becomes a follower of Christ. But remember that I must first be “sober,” if I am to be “vigilant”!

Thought for the Day, June 8, 2026,

No man has a true desire for the salvation of men's souls who does not first have a desire for God to be honored and glorified above all things. The individual who believes or preaches a gospel in which God is not glorified, one in which His justice is not fully satisfied as His grace is shown, not only doesn't truly desire to see men's souls saved but most likely is not saved himself. A salvation which does not begin with God, which is not provided for altogether by God, which does not save all whom He purposes to save and which does not keep all He saves...does not glorify God. The chief end of all things in salvation as well as in general is the glory of God.
