A verse that will always come to fruition if we are patient: Pride goes before a destruction, and haughtiness before a fall. (Proverbs 16:18) No matter what the situation, a person who thinks too highly of himself will always suffer the consequences. But the opposite is also true; James 4:6 tells us that God gives grace to the humble. And couldn't we all benefit from God's grace? We hope you will join us for service on Sunday. There are so many times in my life that I have been too stubborn to ask for help. The results of those times have been varied: sometimes I have injured myself when the job was just physically more than I could do; sometimes the task just did not get accomplished because it was impossible for me to do on my own. As I have gotten older I have come to realize the importance of asking for help. This is true for us spiritually also. We simply cannot overcome this world in our own strength. We cannot be successful in all the Lord has for us to do on our own. We need a helper. The Holy Spirit. We hope you will join us Sunday. Looking back in fulfillment; looking forward in anticipation. Communion brings each of us to the table. The invitation comes from Jesus, the place is secured by Jesus, and each of us are welcomed by Jesus. Who would want to miss such a precious time ... all who love the Lord gathered together as one.
