CAMOUFLAGE. ATTACK. CONFUSE.
Three tactics the enemy has used for generations.
I’ve watched this pattern play out time and time again when unhealthy spirits of rebellion, manipulation, division, offense, and control try to gain influence among God’s people.
First, they camouflage themselves.
They hide behind spirituality.
They hide behind relationships.
They hide behind good intentions and flattering words.
They don’t show up wearing a name tag.
They blend in.
Then, once discernment begins exposing what is operating beneath the surface, they move to the second tactic…
ATTACK.
The leader becomes the problem.
The messenger becomes the target.
The one asking hard questions suddenly becomes “unloving,” “controlling,” or “the issue.”
Why?
Because darkness hates exposure.
Jesus said, “Everyone that doeth evil hateth the light.” (John 3:20)
The enemy knows that if he can’t stop the truth, he’ll try to discredit the person speaking it.
Then comes the third tactic…
CONFUSE.
Private conversations.
Secret narratives.
Half-truths.
Whispers in hallways.
Text messages behind closed doors.
The goal is always the same:
Create enough confusion that people stop discerning.
The enemy loves operating in fog because discernment functions best in light.
Never forget this…
Division rarely announces itself.
It grows in hidden conversations.
Rebellion rarely starts with shouting.
It usually begins with subtle agreement.
And unhealthy alliances are often formed long before public conflict appears.
That’s why leaders must stand firm.
Not angry.
Not carnal.
Not reactionary.
But anchored.
Confront in love.
Lead with conviction.
Walk in wisdom.
Stand on truth.
Don’t allow intimidation to silence discernment.
Don’t allow confusion to replace clarity.
Don’t allow pressure to move you from what God has shown you.
The enemy’s strategy has not changed:
Camouflage. Attack. Confuse.
But neither has God’s answer:
Discern. Confront. Overcome.
Stand strong.
Lead well.
And NEVER surrender ground that God has entrusted to your care!
🔥 If the enemy can’t deceive you, he’ll try to distract you. If he can’t distract you, he’ll try to discredit you. Stay discerning!
