Scripture encourages striving for excellence by working heartily for God, not men (Colossians 3:23-24), and by holding to high standards of character (Philippians 4:8). Excellence is paired with encouraging others through diligent, service-oriented actions (Hebrews 10:24-25) and setting an example in speech and love (1 Timothy 4:12)
