What does it truly mean to be a Parish's Pastor?
In a powerful address, St. John Paul II reminded us that a pastor is so much more than just a church administrator or a service provider. Instead, he is called to be a true shepherd and an "icon of the presence of Christ."
According to Church tradition and Canon Law, a pastor's true mission is to:
Teach: Proclaim the Gospel, ensure authentic Catholic education for youth, and reach out to those who have fallen away from the faith.
Sanctify: Keep the Holy Eucharist at the absolute center of the parish community, leading the faithful closer to God through the sacraments.
Love & Shepherd: Avoid the trap of "functionalism." A priest isn't a bureaucrat—he is a man of God who knows his flock personally, visits families, shares in our joys, and deeply cares for the poor, the sick, and the suffering.
"As I begin my time as Pastor of Holy Cross Parish, I ask you to pray that
the Holy Spirit guide me in my ministry so that I may fulfill my duties as explained by Pope St. John Paul II.
May God’s blessing be with our entire Holy Cross Community!" - Fr. Trinity
Let’s take a moment today to pray for Fr. Trinity, and thank him for his beautiful, tireless, and sacred calling!
