Alma Hunt (Baptist Leader & The Virginia Missions Offering) A native of Roanoke, Virginia, Hunt was a globally recognized figure in Christian mission work, traveling to over 90 countries. After retiring from the national WMU, she continued her work as a consultant for the Baptist Foreign Mission Board and was a strong advocate for women in ministry leadership.
The Alma Hunt Offering: Today, her legacy lives on through the Alma Hunt Offering for Virginia Missions. Established in 1976, this annual joint venture between HerMission (formerly the WMU of Virginia) and the Baptist General Association of Virginia (BGAV) funds local ministries, outreach projects, and faith initiatives across the state.
