We are doing this by providing a special day for these special moms. We want to encourage them with a day off and treat them to a free dinner, free activities for children, and some free goodies and giveaways. More importantly, we want to spend time loving them, leading them in worship, and teaching them from God's precious Word
Melanie's Story
My name is Melanie Alsbrook, and I am 35 years old.
I have three beautiful children, Kayla, 10, Lydia, 6, and Dalton, 4. I was married for nine years, until December 23, 2011. That's the day I became a single mom. I lost my husband and every material possession that we had. My husband died in a fire that destroyed our home, but with God's help it has not and will not destroy our life. Phillipians 4:13 says: I can do all things through Christ that gives me strength. That is definitely the words that we live by daily. The Lord has a purpose in all of our lives, and I know I will be with my husband and Heavenly Father one day soon. Sylvia's Story
My name is Sylvia. I am from Quito Ecuador. I have a 15 year old daughter, and I have been a single mom for 12 years. At 21 is when this different journey started. A journey of beIng a provider, a doctor, an everything for my daughter. I didn´t understand anything. I was looking for something and I started looking for it in different places, especially in the wrong ones. I also attended church . I was still empty and exhausted. I cried many tears, and I screamed for help from down in the bottom of the pit. This is when I met Jesus' face. His love touched and transformed me completely. Now I know that I am not who I used to be anymore. He clothed me in white robes. Now He calls me His princess. That’s when I started really living; I started having a relationship that fulfilled all my needs. I needed to share this so I started talking, serving others and showing what He did in me... He called us to the States to share Christ with people in the church. Now I walk by faith every day , trying to pour some of what He has given me by grace. Now I look back and I am so thankful for this long journey, because now I can relate and understand the wounds of other single moms. I found me in Him.
