Who We Are

McAllister Memorial Presbyterian Church in Covington, Virginia is an inclusive community of Christian believers. We are the “church on the hill” located above the papermill on Alleghany Avenue within view of Covington’s downtown. Over our history McAllister has been the working man’s church and we are proud to be so still today. Yes, we have our business owners, educators, pharmacists,

lawyers and bankers, too. Our membership is diverse, and our reach extends beyond our immediate neighborhood to include strong representation from much of the Alleghany Highlands. As a congregation, we balance traditional Sunday worship services with a progressive youth ministry and outreach. COVID-19 remains a concern, however, the church's Session has removed the facemask requirement for those members and church visitors who are now fully vaccinated. Our 11:00 a.m. Sunday worship service, our adult Sunday school, and our mid-week 5-minute bible study are livestreamed. Join us Sunday mornings in person or online. We would love to see you! Our COPE Food Pantry
As one of its important ministries McAllister is home to the area’s COPE Food Pantry. The Food Pantry is open every Thursday from 8:30 a.m. until noon. It is also open on the first and third Thursday each month from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
