Rickie Wilson is a dear brother and friend. He has served among us in the Northshore as a faithful pastor and associational officer throughout my nearly 7 years here. Our hearts and prayers go with him and his precious family as they embark on this new assignment from the Lord serving the churches of Alaska.

168 years ago today... 48-yr old Jeremiah Lanphier began leading a small noonday prayer meeting for business people at his church in New York City.

One month later, during a nationwide financial panic when hundreds of banks failed, attendance at Lanphier’s prayer gathering skyrocketed, and thousands began meeting at other churches, firehouses, and police stations throughout the city.

Within 6 months, 10,000 businessmen were praying daily.

As the prayer movement spread across the United States, similar meetings were launched in places like Philadelphia PA, Denver CO, and Portland OR...within the next 2 years, approximately 1 million people gave their lives to Christ.
