AMERICAN SPIRIT AWARDS
The American Spirit Awards are a prestigious annual event hosted by The National WWII Museum NOLA, to celebrate individuals and organizations whose life's work reflects the courage, sacrifice, and values of the "Greatest Generation". 2026 honorees include: Steve Gleason, Rosie the Riveters, John Williams.
Proceeds from the A S A gala go directly toward supporting the educational programming of The National WWII Museum. This includes creating classroom materials, funding professional development for teachers, and powering online experiences that reach students globally.
Sisters Beth Mouch and Joyce Hanks were present. Beth enrolled in the Patriots Circle to honor her father (Dr. Larry Mouch-Franklin) who was a WWII veteran. He was in the army and served on a navy ship in the Pacific theater during the war.
Up close to our photos: An overview taken at the gala; the gentleman on the left end is a son of a Rosie the Riveter; the stylized image of Rosie representing women from all walks of life who worked in the factories when men went war; Sr. Joyce is seated with a woman (red top) who was a "Rosie"... she is 104 years old.
