Guest speaker, Rev. Bill Gruenewald, gave the final part of the sermon series, "Hidden Battles in the Home," on Sunday. The sermon title was "Cost of More," and referenced Luke 12:13-21, the Parable of the Rich Fool, where Jesus warns a crowd against greed and teaches that life is not measured by possessions.

Parables are earthly stories with heavenly meaning, and Jesus often used them in his teaching. This one teaches us that wealth and success are not bad. We can enjoy what God has blessed us with. However, we must hold those blessings loosely - wealth and material possessions have no eternal value.

"Then he said to them, 'Watch out! Be on your guard against all kinds of greed; life does not consist in an abundance of possessions.'" Luke 12:15

We are excited about FAMILY NIGHT this Sunday, August 30th. There will be dinner, breakout sessions, games, and plenty of FUN, too!

This event is open to FAMILIES with kids of ALL ages. We will have a family game and dinner, be split into groups and then we will reconvene to close out with dessert and family questions.
