First Friday Mass June 5

Holy Spirit Parish will be holding a Spanish Healing Mass at the same time as our regularly scheduled First Friday Spanish Mass on June 5, 2026. Therefore, there will be no First Friday Spanish Mass at St. John the Baptist for the month of June.

Our First Friday Mass in English will still be celebrated at 9:00 am followed by Adoration.

We appreciate your understanding and invite parishioners to attend the Healing Mass at Holy Spirit Parish.

Come Help Our Church Shine!

Although our spring cleaning might be a bit overdue, it’s never too late to lend a hand! On Saturday, June 6, and Friday, June 12, 2026, we’re inviting all hands-on deck to help make our church shine.

Most projects, such as washing windows and tidying chairs, will be indoors, but we’ll also have outdoor tasks. There’s something for everyone: team projects, solo tasks, and plenty in between. It’s a fun and rewarding way to care for our parish home while spending time together and building community. Please join us!

If you haven’t yet made your gift, please prayerfully consider a contribution to the 2026 Annual Catholic Appeal. Your support goes beyond funding ministries that serve those in need, and it also directly sustains the staff of Family 30 and Fathers Chad and Crispin every day.

With your generosity, we can simplify workloads, strengthen communication, and advance evangelization efforts across Western Washington. Together, we make the mission possible.

Here is where we are today with St. John the Baptist:
- Goal: $136,718
- Pledges (5/20/26): $75,128
- 55% of goal
- 163 donors
- 13.3% of 1,219 registered households

Please consider the Archdiocesan average gift of $575 as reference. Any funds received beyond our goal will be directed to Family 30 Parish to projects that enhance accessibility and safety at St. John the Baptist Parish.

It’s easy to give to the 2026 Annual Catholic Appeal. Visit archseattle.org/giveaca or envelopes are in the pews for your prayerful reflection.

You Don’t Have to Grieve Alone

A 9-week Grief Support Program is being offered by Family 30’s Grief Ministry. Walking Through Grief is an educational and inspirational program that offers support, comfort, and hope to those experiencing the loss of a loved one. This program is offered free of charge.

June 3, 2026 - July 29, 2026
7:00 pm to 8:30 pm each Wednesday evening
Meetings are online via Zoom

Over nine weekly sessions, participants will find support, understanding, and hope while learning about the journey through grief. Each session features professionally produced videos with grief experts and personal stories from individuals who share their own experiences of loss and healing. Weekly sessions include a focused topic, gentle group discussion, and simple workbook reflections to continue between meetings. Participants will receive a workbook, along with helpful tools, handouts, and articles to support them along the way.

To learn more about Walking Through Grief, go to walkingthroughgrief.com/.

To register, please contact Frank Hammock at the parish office. Additional information, including the Zoom link, handouts, and other materials will be shared after you are registered.

Note that this program is led by facilitators and not counselors. Participants are encouraged to seek professional counseling if they feel they need further support in their grief beyond the scope of this program.

The Premier Grief Healing Program The Walking Through Grief product line is divided in to two sections. One is a series of single short DVDs with a variety of different focuses. Each DVD is designed to stand-alone and be used by individuals or groups around a specific topic. The second section is a....

Prepared to Serve: Eucharistic Minister Commissioning

Thank you to all of the Eucharistic Ministers who attended our Liturgical Minister training sessions last week. Now that you have completed your training, you are ready to be commissioned.

Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, more commonly known as Eucharistic Ministers, are formally authorized to assist in the distribution of the Eucharist. Because priests and deacons are the Ordinary Ministers of Holy Communion, laypersons must receive an official mandate from the bishop or pastor to serve in this sacred ministry. This commissioning ensures that ministers receive proper theological and practical formation and are prepared to handle the consecrated Body and Blood of Christ with reverence and care.

The commissioning of ministers will take place at all Masses on June 7, 2026, the Solemnity of The Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. All ministers are asked to attend one of these Masses in order to be commissioned.

If you are unable to attend, please contact Laurie Moloney at the parish office for further instructions.
