It is with heavy hearts that we announce our dear sister, friend, and faithful church member, Betty Sawyer, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday afternoon at the age of 92. She was our longest-standing member of Puente Hills Baptist Church, now known as Grace & Truth Baptist Church, for an incredible 66 years! She was an integral part of our church and a tremendous blessing to our church family.
Betty had such a sweet spirit, a spirited strength, and an unfailing faith. She was a true prayer warrior, always willing to help and offer words of encouragement, an example to our ladies, a loving teacher to our children, and the epitome of a virtuous Proverbs 31 woman. She was a proud mother of 7 children, and proud grandmother of 15 grandchildren, 31 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren with 2 more on the way. Her family was her greatest joy and she strongly raised them in the nuture and admonition of the Lord. Her heart belonged to Jesus. Betty's love and faith in God would shine through her actions in her home and in countless church ministries, always seeking to serve Him. In her recent years as her age and health limited her capabilities, she still faithfully attended church services with her daughter, Georgian, and son-in-law, AJ. It was beautiful to see recognition light up her eyes when she saw someone she remembered or heard a hymn she loved.
She was a true force in this world and a special gift from above. It's difficult to imagine this life without her. While we mourn her physical absence, we are thankful for the blessed assurance that Sis Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, and we will see her sweet smile again in Heaven. She is now resting in the arms of our Heavenly Father with a perfect body. We're thankful for the life she lived, the love she shared, and the impact she had on so many. Please keep her children and their families in your prayers during this time.
"Well done, thou good and faithful servant." Go rest high on that mountain, sweet Betty. Your work on earth is done. ❤️🕊

"We are confident, I say, and willing rather to be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." (II Corinthians 5:8)

🎶She sits by the window with wandering eyes
She has a song in her heart
And a golden disguise
Her body is torn because age doesn't heal
She's not letting on
about the pain that she feels
But she knows in her soul
that it won't be too long
'Til Jesus comes back to carry her home...
Where there will be no more pain
No more sorrow,
No more waiting for illusive tomorrows
There will be no more pain, No more dying,
No more striving or strain,
No more pain 🎶

Another servant for the Lord has gone home to Glory. Last month, our dear brother, faithful church member, uncle/tito to our Pastor's wife, and friend, Bro. Primo Mandani, took his final breath in this life, and is now resting in the arms of Jesus.
He was a tremendous blessing and encouragement to all that knew him. He was a faithfully active member of our church for many years, serving in various ministries.
Bro. Primo was a wonderful example for our men and congregation. He was also a strong father-figure in our Pastor's wife's, Sis. Sharon's, life. Loving and present, he left her with countless memories and lessons she will carry forever. He firmly stood on the Word of God, always reliable, willing to serve, and possessed an unfailing faith and love for the Lord. It would especially shine through as he sang worship songs in Tagalog. Our church family loved him and will miss him dearly.
Please continue to keep his beloved wife, Sis Lota, and the Mandani Family in your prayers during this time. 🙏
While we grieve his physical absence, we take comfort and rejoice in knowing that he accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior and we will see him again one day. Go rest high on that mountain, Bro. Primo. Your work on earth is done. Well done, thou good and faithful servant! 💙🕊

A few weeks ago, after a long health battle, our dear sister, Lilia Soliven, went home to be with the Lord.
Today, we gather together to honor her beautiful life. Sis Lili was a faithful servant of God, serving as an alto singer in choir, and various other ministries in church. She is remembered as a kind, soft-spoken lady with loud, loving actions, and a heart for Jesus. Her quiet strength would shine through as she embraced you with a smile, and served in any manner that she could. Even in her final days, she concerned herself with how her church family was doing and continued to pray for each one. An epitome of a Proverbs 31 woman, Sis Lili was an example, a prayer warrior, a sister, and friend to all who knew her. We're thankful she knew and accepted Christ as her personal Savior and is now resting in His everlasting arms. She is deeply loved and missed by our church, and we'll carry on her memory until we see her again in Glory. Please keep her beloved husband, Bro. Ike, and their family in your prayers during this time of bereavement.
Go rest high on that mountain, sweet Lili. Your work on earth is done. Well done, thou good and faithful servant. ❤️🕊
