A Happy and Blessed Easter to all!

“Why do you seek the living one among the dead? He is not here, but he has been raised.” — Luke 24:5–6

He is not here. He has risen! He has risen indeed!

Today we celebrate the victory of life over death, hope over despair, and love over sin.

Christ is risen, and because He lives, we have hope.

We wish you and your family an Easter season filled with blessings and joy.

Happy Easter! Alleluia! ✝️

Nie ma Go tutaj; zmartwychwstał” (Łk 24, 5-6).

Nie ma go tutaj. Zmartwychwstał. Prawdziwie zmartwychwstał Pan!

Dzisiaj świętujemy zwycięstwo życia nad śmiercią, nadziei nad rozpaczą, miłości nad grzechem.

"Reading the holy Scriptures confers two benefits. It trains the mind to understand them; it turns man’s attention from the follies of the world and leads him to the love of God. Two kinds of study are called for here. We must first learn how the Scriptures are to be understood, and then see how to expound them with profit and in a manner worthy of them . . . No one can understand holy Scripture without constant reading . . . The more you devote yourself to the study of the sacred utterances, the richer will be your understanding of them, just as the more the soil is tilled, the richer the harvest.” —St. Isidore of Seville

Something to consider on Good Friday:

Jesus of Nazareth underwent Jewish and Roman trials, was flogged, and was sentenced to death by crucifixion.

The scourging produced deep stripelike lacerations and appreciable blood loss, and it probably set the stage for hypovolemic shock, as evidenced by the fact that Jesus was too weakened to carry the crossbar (patibulum) to Golgotha.

At the site of crucifixion, his wrists were nailed to the patibulum and, after the patibulum was lifted onto the upright post (stipes), his feet were nailed to the stipes.

The major pathophysiologic effect of crucifixion was an interference with normal respirations. Accordingly death resulted primarily from hypovolemic shock and exhaustion asphyxia.

Jesus’ death was ensured by the thrust of a soldier’s spear into his side. Modern medical interpretation of the historical evidence indicate that Jesus was dead when taken down from the cross.

Let us pray...

Lord, by shedding his blood for us, your Son, Jesus Christ, established the paschal mystery. In your goodness, make us holy and watch over us always. We ask this through Christ our Lord. Amen.

Wishing everyone a very Merry and Blessed Christmas!

“The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light.” (Is 9:2)

On this holy night, we wait with joyful expectation for the coming of our Savior.

The quiet of Christmas Eve reminds us that God enters the world not with fanfare, but with humility, tenderness, and love strong enough to change the world.

As families gather and parishes prepare to celebrate the Nativity of the Lord, let us pray for those who seek comfort, those who long for hope, and those who will encounter Christ for the first time tonight.

May the light of Christ find a home in every heart this Christmas.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you of the passing of our council Brother Knight Henry Giolitti. His sister-in-law Terry just called me to inform me of the sad news. He passed away last night, and while I don't know the details, I know that he has been suffering with heart problems for a while now so his passing is likely attributable to that.

As many of you know, Brother Henry recently joined the Knights in June of 2024 just after the passing of his brother Mark, another beloved council Brother Knight. He took over from Brother Mark in making our tribute to Father Paul and the Mark Giolitti Memorial Italian "Knight" a huge success. I believe now we'll be calling it the Mark and Henry Giolitti Memorial Italian "Knight."

Terry tells me that Henry's arrangements are as follows:

Visiting hours this coming Friday, August 8, from 4 to 8 PM at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Ave., Cranston.

His Mass of Christian Burial on Saturday, August 9, at 10 AM at St. Robert Bellarmine Church, 1804 Atwood Ave, Johnston.

His obituary hasn't posted on the Woodlawn Funeral Home site yet, but I will email it out once it has. Also, there will be a wake call, and when our Worthy Grand Knight tells me when he wants us to be there, I will email you with that information as well.

On a personal note, Henry had become a very good friend of mine since we lost Mark. Of course, he and his family were friends of my wife Karen's family back when she was growing up on Simmonsville Ave. in Johnston back in the day. I'm going to miss him.

Please pray for the repose of Brother Henry's soul, and for his wife Donna and his entire family.

It is with a heavy heart that I inform you that Diane Belanger, wife of Past Grand Knight Dick Belanger (who passed away in Sept 2023), went to her final reward yesterday at West Shore Health Center. She was 87. The obituary linked here has her arrangements.

Many of you know how active Diane and Brother Dick were in our council. They were at just about every event we had since I've been with the council (since 2006). They were both great friends of mine, having lived just down the road from me, and I will most certainly miss them. I am attaching a great photo of them at the last Christmas Party they attended in 2022 at Cranston Country Club.

Please pray for the repose of Diane's soul and for the Belanger family. Thank you.
